Paediatric First Aid

Our basic, half day Paediatric First Aid Course is suitable for nannies, au-pairs,
babysitters, parents, in fact virtually anyone seeking to acquire the necessary first aid
skills needed for dealing with an emergency involving a child. Earning this certificate will
give you the ability and the confidence to deal with most minor emergencies and step up
if you are ever called on to help with something more serious.
It is also useful as your annual refresher if you already have a higher level course such
as the one needed to work in a nursery.
A course such as this one is mandatory for a nanny who wants to register under the
Voluntary Registration scheme with Ofsted. Nannies who register under this scheme
enable parents to benefit from the government Childcare Voucher scheme.

12 Hour Intensive Paediatric First Aid

Our intensive, two day Paediatric First Aid Course is suitable for nannies, au-pairs,
babysitters, parents, who wants to take things to the next stage.This course equips
you to cope with more than the half day course by dealing with more topics and in
greater depth. At the end of the course you will know the emergency procedures for
all common problems and children in your care will be safer.
This course can also be used by a nanny who wants to register under the Voluntary
Registration scheme with Ofsted and is the one mandated by them for nursery
workers and registered childminders. Registering with Ofsted enables parents to
benefit from the government Childcare Voucher scheme, an important factor when
choosing a nanny.

The Common Core of Skills and Knowledge

Our Common core skills and knowledge course is suitable for Nannies that are
seeking to gain a more formal understanding of the skills and knowledge required to
work as a child- carer. It introduces you to the aspects of safeguarding the children in
your care that the law requires you to be aware of and the governmental
organisations involved in the welfare of children. The Common Core reflects a set of
common values for practitioners that promote equality, respect diversity and
challenge stereotypes, helping to improve the life chances of all children. It shows the
role parents, carers and families play in helping children achieve the outcomes
identified in the EYFS. Also we look at the developmental milestones that infants and
children reach and how to spot any delays in this development. Run as a half day

course the certificate is awarded on successful completion of the course. This
Common Core Skills & Knowledge training is suitable for all child-carers wishing to
register with Ofsted.
